Who’s Ell?

Ell is a professional bassist, composer, and sound designer from Lima, Peru. Her passion for music ignited at age 12 when her mom gifted her a guitar, sparking a journey that would intertwine her life with music. Growing up in a non-musical family, Ell’s love for soul, jazz, and R&B began unexpectedly after hearing Norah Jones’ voice at a store in a mall. Mesmerized, she started taking piano and guitar lessons, gradually immersing herself in the music world.

Although Ell initially pursued a career in Marketing, music remained her true calling. During college, she explored this passion by taking music classes. It was in an ensemble class where she first discovered the bass guitar—a love that was undeniable but out of reach at the time, as the teacher kept her on piano and vocals.

At 20, Ell moved to Los Angeles and finally bought her first bass guitar, teaching herself to play. Four years later, she decided to take her dream seriously, revisiting the passion she had put on hold since she was 15. From that moment, Ell’s journey as a bassist took off. She has since performed and toured with artists such as WRENN, Hey Violet, Lily Meola, aleXa, Roe Kapara, Jensen McRae, and many more.

Beyond her work as a bassist, Ell explores storytelling and emotions through her solo lo-fi project, blending the magic of cinema with music to craft soulful, nostalgic tracks inspired by TV shows and films. She’s also a talented sound designer, creating immersive soundscapes in her free time.

When she’s not making music, Ell enjoys hiking, painting, sports, reading, and indulging her obsession with coffee—a passion she plans to turn into reality by opening her own cozy coffee shop in the near future.
